Your help is needed:
Now that we have dogs at our shelter property, we need help every day twice per day at 7:30am and 5:00pm. Work involves taking dogs out of their kennels, walking them, feeding, and cleaning kennels.
We also need help in the office. We would like someone in the office for a few hours each day from 10am to 2pm.
Our cat building will be delivered in about 2 weeks. We’ll be finishing that building (installing electrical and plumbing) and then rearranging supplies so we can finish the office as well.
If you can commit to help in any way, please let us know.
Call Alena at: 210-268-7380, she will coordinate the volunteer schedule.
We will have a whiteboard in the office this week to get on a regular schedule.
We really appreciate all the help we can get! Thank you!!!

The Wilson Count No-Kill Animal Shelter Volunteer/Networking Committee is tasked with developing a database of volunteers and match them with activities that best suit their expertise and interests, identify ways to utilize groups (eg 4H, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Youth Ministries, etc) that are seeking volunteer opportunities and community service activities, and network with local animal rescue groups to develop partnerships. This committee is not limited to these tasks and may find other creative ways to utilize volunteers that can help build, manage, and maintain a no-kill facility in Wilson County. This will be accomplished by drafting and presenting a proposal to the Board and other interested parties.
Our community is coming together to solve the animal crisis in Wilson County, Texas by building a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter.
Wilson County No-Kill Animal Shelter, Inc. (WCNKAS) was established in 2015 and is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3), charitable organization whose mission is to provide innovative programs and services to help animals in Wilson County, Texas. It is managed and maintained by individual volunteers as well as volunteers from local animal rescue groups. The organization has become the primary resource for the community as well as local veterinary clinics and law enforcement and in 2017, acquired 7.6 acres in Floresville. Funds are needed to begin construction on a building, but even without a physical building, WCNKAS is active and has saved more than 500 dogs and cats. Imagine what can be done once the building is up!
